Prosecutors and public defenders are traditionally at odds in the criminal justice system. District Attorney General Russell Johnson and Public Defender Kim Nelson have a shared vision concerning the problems in their community and are overcoming traditional barriers to form strong relationships with local non-profit service providers and the faith-based community to bridge gaps in services for those affected by the opioid epidemic. Charlene Hipsher and Phillip Martin have a history of working with non-profits and the faith-based community.
Align9 was established to serve the community through government agencies, non-government organizations and the faith-based community. Align 9 identifies gaps in services and applies for grants to develop programs and services which empower non-profits and the faith-based community to build stronger communities in the areas of prevention, treatment, recovery, rehabilitation and enforcement.
